BENEFITS TO RIGHTS HOLDERS

SINGULARLY FOCUSED

Broadway Tunes is singularly focused on musical theatre and works to make sure the songs we manage are protected and only licensed for appropriate uses.

ARTIST ALIGNED

Artists and their families have important creative and emotional interests that must and will be taken into account.

CAREFUL MANAGEMENT

Broadway Tunes takes great care in the copyrights it controls to ensure their long-term integrity.

FUNNY GIRL

Broadway Tunes was the winning bidder in a competitive process to acquire Bob Merrill’s songwriter and music publishing rights in the songs from the classic 1960s musical Funny Girl.

In its initial post-closing marketing of these works, the company has secured several new high profile synchronization licenses, including:

  • “Don’t Rain on My Parade” was used in the Netflix shows The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Devil in Ohio, in the CBS show Blue Bloods, and in ABC’s American Idol.
  • “People” was licensed to Sony Music for inclusion in a video celebrating the 60th anniversary of Barbra Streisand’s signing to Columbia Records.
  • “Music That Makes Me Dance” was featured in a Jason Gotay podcast.
Broadway Tunes commissioned the recording of a new jazz version of “People”, which is being used to showcase the song for music supervisors, film, TV and commercial directors, and others.

GIVNG BACK

A PORTION OF THE PROFITS BROADWAY TUNES GENERATES WILL BE DONATED TO SUPPORT MUSICAL THEATRE.

Many artists and their families feel a sense of gratitude and connection to musical theatre and Broadway Tunes intends to offer them an avenue to give back to the Broadway community.

Donations made by Broadway Tunes can but do not have to be attributed to the name of the artist, their heirs or estate.

Importantly, the donations Broadway Tunes makes will not have an impact on the amount artists, heirs or estates receive in consideration for their rights.
